$The VCT B1 (VCT1535030) is a 350mm silver brazed diamond blade built for the most demanding wet cutting applications on South African construction sites. Designed specifically for old concrete and hard masonry — materials that quickly destroy inferior blades — the B1 combines a silver brazed segment bond with a deep 15mm diamond segment to deliver long-lasting, aggressive cutting performance on the hardest, densest site materials. At 350mm, this blade is designed for floor saws, road saws, and walk-behind cutting machines used in high-production environments such as road construction, civil engineering projects, and heavy-duty demolition work. The silver brazing process creates a strong metallurgical bond between the diamond-impregnated segment and the steel core, ensuring the segments remain securely attached even under the sustained heat and vibration generated during deep wet cutting of old, cured concrete. Silver brazing is a high-temperature bonding process that fuses the diamond segments to the steel core using a silver-alloy filler metal. This creates a bond that is well-suited to wet cutting applications, where water cooling reduces blade temperature and allows the silver brazed joint to perform reliably over extended use. For old concrete and hard masonry — where cutting resistance is high and blade temperatures build quickly — wet cutting with a silver brazed blade is the preferred approach. The water suppresses dust, cools the blade, and extends both the segment life and the integrity of the brazed bond, resulting in more cuts per blade compared to dry cutting alternatives on the same material. The 15mm segment height on the B1 adds further value: as the outer diamond layer wears through normal use, fresh diamond-impregnated material is continuously exposed, maintaining cutting efficiency deep into the blade’s working life.
