Granite & Marble Polishing Products
Achieving a flawless, mirror-quality finish on granite or marble requires the right sequence of polishing products — from initial grinding through to the final buff. Vus Cutting Technology stocks a focused range of granite and marble polishing consumables and accessories used by stonemasons, tombstone manufacturers, and countertop fabricators across South Africa.
Whether you need 3-Step Flexi Polishing Pads for fast progressive polishing or PG15 Granite Powder Oxide for the final mirror finish — you will find the right products here.
The Polishing Process — From Cut to Shine
Stage 1: Grinding & Shaping
After cutting, the stone surface is uneven and dull. The 100mm Diamond Turbo Cup Wheel (M14 Thread) removes tool marks, saw lines, and levels the surface before polishing begins. Built on an aluminium base with a swirl turbo segment design, it keeps the wheel cool and protects the stone surface from heat stress during this initial stage. Available in 100mm, 125mm, and 180mm for standard M14 angle grinders — found in our Concrete & Masonry Grinding range.
Stage 2: Progressive Polishing
3-Step Flexi Polishing Pads A fast, efficient three-stage polishing system moving through coarse, medium, and fine passes in a single product range. Ideal for stonemasons and tombstone fabricators who need consistent, professional results with a faster turnaround. Suitable for use on granite, marble, and engineered stone surfaces. Used with a Velcro Pad Holder or Rubber Backing Pad Holder on a standard angle grinder.
Stage 3: Final Polish
The final stage uses PG15 Granite Powder Oxide to achieve the deep, reflective mirror finish characteristic of premium granite and marble work. PG15 is applied wet using a suitable felt pad and brings out the natural colour depth and reflectivity of the stone. This stage should only be carried out once all scratch marks from the previous polishing stages have been completely removed.
Pad Holders and Mounting Accessories
Correct pad mounting ensures consistent, flat contact between the polishing pad and stone surface — critical to an even, scratch-free finish.
Velcro Pad Holder — for quick-change pad mounting on angle grinders. Compatible with the 3-Step Flexi Polishing Pads.
Rubber Backing Pad Holder — provides cushioning and flexibility, important when polishing profiled edges, curved tombstone surfaces, or rounded granite worktop corners.

How many polishing stages do I need on granite?
With the 3-Step Flexi Polishing Pads, the process is simplified into three passes — coarse, medium, and fine. The number of passes needed depends on the starting condition of the stone. Freshly cut sawn surfaces benefit from all three stages. Do not skip stages as this will leave visible scratch marks in the final finish.
What is PG15 Granite Powder Oxide used for?
PG15 is a fine polishing compound used as the final step to achieve a mirror finish on granite. It is applied wet and brings out the natural colour depth and reflectivity of the stone. It should only be used once all scratch marks from the polishing pad stages have been completely removed.
Can these products be used on marble?
Yes, with care. Marble is softer than granite, so use lighter pressure — especially in the early grinding stage — to avoid over-cutting the surface. The 3-Step Flexi Polishing Pads are well suited to marble finishing work.
Where do I start if I am new to granite polishing?
Start with the 100mm Diamond Turbo Cup Wheel to remove saw marks and level the surface, work through the 3-Step Flexi Polishing Pads for progressive polishing, then finish with PG15 Granite Powder Oxide for the final mirror finish.
