350mm Laser Welded Diamond Blade for Old Concrete and Hard Masonry — VCT2035025

The VCT2035025 is a 350mm laser welded diamond blade engineered for wet cutting of old concrete, very hard masonry, clay pavers, reinforced concrete, and refractory materials. Laser welded segments deliver superior strength and safety at high operating speeds compared to silver brazed alternatives, making this blade the preferred choice for high-production and high-RPM floor saw applications. 15mm segment height for extended blade life. Rated to 4,366 RPM / 80m/s. Fits floor saws and road saws with a 25.4mm bore.

Product Details

The VCT2035025 is a 350mm laser welded diamond blade designed for professional wet cutting of old concrete, hard masonry, and the most demanding site materials. Built under the Vus Cutting Technology house brand, this blade is engineered for contractors and cutting crews who require a high-performance, long-life blade that can handle sustained, heavy-duty floor saw and road saw work without segment loss or premature wear.

Where the silver brazed VCT B1 uses a traditional brazing process to bond segments to the core, the VCT2035025 uses laser welding — a precision fusion process that bonds the diamond segments directly to the steel core at a molecular level. This produces a significantly stronger and more consistent bond that holds its integrity at higher operating speeds and under the sustained vibration and heat generated during deep cutting of very hard, dense materials.

The 15mm deep diamond segments provide an extended working life compared to standard 7mm or 10mm segment blades, giving contractors more cuts per blade and a lower cost-per-cut on high-volume projects. Combined with the laser welded bond, this makes the VCT2035025 one of the most capable and cost-effective 350mm blades in the VCT construction range.

Best For

  • Old and very hard cured concrete — foundations, slabs, hardened structures, and demolition work
  • Clay pavers, hard paving slabs, and road paving materials
  • Hard clay and vitrified clay products
  • Roof tiles and clay roofing products
  • Reinforced concrete containing rebar, wire mesh, and steel fibre
  • Refractory materials in industrial and high-temperature environments
  • High-production floor saw and road saw operations requiring maximum blade life
  • Contractors, civil engineering teams, and plant hire companies cutting on a daily basis

Laser Welded vs Silver Brazed — What’s the Difference?

Both the VCT B1 (silver brazed) and the VCT2035025 (laser welded) are designed for the same application — old concrete and hard masonry — but they differ in how the segments are bonded to the steel core, and this has practical implications on site.

  • Bond strength: Laser welding creates a fusion bond that is mechanically stronger than silver brazing. This is particularly important in high-vibration applications such as road cutting and deep slab cutting where segment retention under stress is critical.
  • Dry cutting suitability: Laser welded blades are safer for dry cutting than silver brazed blades because the welded bond does not rely on a metal filler that can soften under heat. For applications where water is not always available, the laser welded VCT2035025 offers greater operational flexibility.
  • High-RPM performance: The stronger bond of a laser welded blade makes it the preferred choice for machines operating at the upper end of the speed range, where centrifugal forces and vibration place greater stress on the segment-to-core joint.
  • Value consideration: Silver brazed blades like the VCT B1 typically offer a lower entry price and remain an excellent choice for wet cutting operations where speed and heat are well controlled. The laser welded VCT2035025 is the step up for contractors who prioritise bond strength and operational versatility.

Machine Compatibility

The VCT2035025 is designed for floor saws, road saws, and walk-behind cutting machines with a 25.4mm (1-inch) arbour — the standard bore size on most 350mm floor and road saws used on South African construction sites. Always confirm your machine’s maximum disc diameter and rated operating speed before fitting. Your machine’s rated speed must not exceed 4,366 RPM.

This blade is not suitable for use on hand-held angle grinders. For 230mm angle grinder applications, see the Earth THDS7223 Segmented Diamond Cutting Blade in our construction range.

Safety & PPE

Operating a 350mm diamond blade on a floor saw or road saw generates significant hazards. Always observe the following:

  • Ensure adequate water supply is connected and flowing before cutting begins
  • Wear a full face shield and safety glasses to protect against water, slurry, and flying debris
  • Use hearing protection throughout the cutting operation
  • Wear waterproof outerwear, rubber boots, and cut-resistant gloves
  • Wear an appropriate dust mask — even with wet cutting, silica-laden slurry dries on surrounding surfaces
  • Inspect the blade before each use for cracks, missing or damaged segments, or deformation of the steel core
  • Never exceed the maximum operating speed of 4,366 RPM
  • Ensure the blade guard is correctly fitted and the blade is properly seated on the machine spindle before starting
