230mm VCT Segmented Diamond Blade

The VCT Professional General Purpose VCT23030 is a 230mm segmented diamond blade designed for dry cutting of concrete, brick, block, and general masonry. The open gullet segment design keeps the blade cool during extended cutting and clears debris efficiently for fast, consistent performance on site. Rated to 6600 RPM / 80m/s. Fits standard 22.23mm angle grinders. Available in 115mm and 230mm.

Product Details

The 230mm VCT Segmented Diamond Blade (VCT23030) is a heavy-duty dry-cutting blade engineered for fast, reliable cutting of concrete, brick, block, and general masonry on construction sites. The segmented rim design — featuring evenly spaced diamond-impregnated segments separated by cooling gullets — allows heat and debris to escape freely during cutting, keeping the blade cool and extending its working life even under sustained use.

At 230mm (9 inches), this blade is sized for standard large-disc angle grinders and delivers the cutting depth needed for full-thickness bricks, concrete pavers, and masonry blocks in a single pass. It is the go-to blade for construction crews, building contractors, and brick-laying teams who need a dependable general-purpose concrete blade that performs consistently across a range of site materials.

Best For

  • Cutting concrete blocks, bricks, and pavers on construction sites
  • General masonry cutting across mixed site materials
  • Expansion joint cutting and concrete slab trimming
  • Kerb and channel work
  • Dry cutting in outdoor or open-air environments where water is not available
  • Contractors and tradesmen who need a reliable all-round concrete blade

Why Segmented?

The segmented rim is the most widely used design in construction diamond blades for good reason. The gaps between segments — called gullets — serve two critical functions: they allow air to circulate and cool the blade during dry cutting, and they provide an escape channel for concrete dust and debris. This prevents the blade from binding in the cut and dramatically reduces the risk of overheating, which is the primary cause of premature blade failure on site.

Compared to a continuous rim blade, a segmented blade cuts faster and runs cooler in hard, dry materials like cured concrete and dense masonry — making it the correct choice for this type of application.

Machine Compatibility

This blade fits any angle grinder with a 22.23mm arbour — the standard spindle size on virtually all 230mm (9-inch) angle grinders. Always confirm your grinder’s maximum disc diameter and rated RPM before fitting. Your grinder’s rated speed must be equal to or lower than the blade’s maximum speed of 6600 RPM.

Compatible with popular angle grinder brands commonly used on South African sites including Makita, DeWalt, Bosch, Metabo, and Ryobi large-disc grinders.

Safety & PPE

Diamond blades operate at high speed and generate concrete dust containing silica. Always observe the following when using this blade:

  • Wear eye protection and a full face shield at all times when cutting
  • Use hearing protection during extended cutting operations
  • Wear an N95 or higher-rated dust mask — silica dust is a serious respiratory hazard
  • Wear cut-resistant gloves and steel-toe footwear
  • Ensure the blade guard is correctly fitted to your angle grinder before use
  • Inspect the blade for cracks, missing segments, or damage before every use — do not use a damaged blade
  • Never exceed the maximum speed of 6600 RPM
  • Allow adequate ventilation when cutting in enclosed spaces
