115mm Continuous Rim Diamond Blade for Granite and Marble

The Vus Cutting Technology 115mm continuous rim diamond blade delivers smooth, chip-free cuts on granite, marble, engineered stone, and porcelain. The uninterrupted cutting edge produces the finest possible edge finish on natural and engineered stone — the correct choice for polished tombstone faces, countertop edges, and precision tile work. 5mm segment height. Fits standard 115mm angle grinders with a 22.23mm bore. Wet cutting recommended.

Product Details

The Vus Cutting Technology 115mm continuous rim diamond blade is designed for stonemasons, tombstone manufacturers, countertop fabricators, and tile installers who need a smooth, chip-free edge finish on granite, marble, engineered stone, and porcelain. Where segmented and T-segment blades prioritise cutting speed and cooling, the continuous rim blade prioritises precision — delivering the finest possible cut quality on expensive, polished, or decorative stone surfaces where chipping is not acceptable.

The defining feature of a continuous rim blade is the uninterrupted diamond-impregnated cutting edge with no gullets or segment gaps. This full-contact edge glides through stone rather than hammering through it, producing a clean, factory-quality cut face that requires minimal finishing. On polished granite tombstone faces, marble floor tiles, and engineered stone countertop edges, this is the blade that does the job properly the first time.

At 115mm, this blade fits standard angle grinders and is the ideal tool for detail work, edge profiling, precision trimming, and any application where hand-held control and cut quality matter more than raw speed.

Best For

  • Precision edge trimming and profiling on polished granite tombstone slabs
  • Countertop edge finishing on granite, marble, and engineered stone
  • Marble floor tile and wall cladding installation where chip-free edges are essential
  • Porcelain and ceramic tile work requiring a clean, smooth cut face
  • Detail work and intricate cuts on natural and engineered stone
  • Finishing cuts after rough profiling with a T-segment or segmented blade
  • Any application where the cut edge will be visible and must be clean

Continuous Rim vs Segmented — Which Should You Use?

Both blade types cut granite and marble, but they are optimised for different priorities. Choosing the wrong one wastes blade life and risks damaging expensive material.

  • Use the Continuous Rim blade when: Edge quality is the priority. You are cutting polished stone, finishing tombstone faces, profiling countertop edges, or working on decorative stone where any chipping or roughness on the cut face is unacceptable.
  • Use the Segmented blade when: Speed and blade life are the priority. You are sizing slabs, making through-cuts on thick granite, or doing production workshop work where the cut face will be further processed or is not a finished surface.

A common workflow in tombstone and countertop workshops is to use the T-segment blade for the main slab cuts and switch to the continuous rim blade for the final edge finishing and detail work. This approach maximises both productivity and finish quality.

Why Wet Cutting Matters on Granite and Marble

The continuous rim design has no gullets to assist with heat dissipation. For this reason, wet cutting is essential — not optional — for all but the shortest cuts. Water flowing onto the blade during use cools the diamond layer, prevents thermal shock cracking in the stone, flushes stone dust from the cut, and dramatically extends the working life of the blade. Running a continuous rim blade dry for extended periods will cause the bond to overheat, the diamonds to glaze over, and the blade to stop cutting effectively long before the diamond layer is exhausted.

For short trimming cuts of a few seconds, dry use is possible. For any sustained cutting, keep the water running.

Machine Compatibility

This blade fits any angle grinder with a 22.23mm arbour — the standard spindle size on virtually all 115mm angle grinders. Compatible with popular brands including Makita, DeWalt, Bosch, Metabo, and Ryobi 115mm angle grinders commonly used in South African stone fabrication workshops and on site.

Safety & PPE

Stone work with diamond blades generates silica dust and flying debris. Always observe the following:

  • Wet cutting is essential — ensure water supply is connected and flowing before use
  • Wear eye protection and a full face shield at all times
  • Wear an N95 or higher-rated dust mask — granite and marble dust contains silica
  • Wear hearing protection during extended use
  • Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling stone and blades
  • Inspect the blade before every use for cracks or damage to the rim — do not use a damaged blade
  • Ensure the blade guard is correctly fitted to your angle grinder
  • Allow adequate ventilation when working in enclosed spaces
